When the Nazis invaded Russia in 1940, they were impressed by the firepower and dominance of the Russian land Battleship, the KV-6. While the Nazis had their own land battleship, the Landkruezer P1000 Ratte, they felt that a smaller, faster, and more maneuverable landship was needed. Thus the Landkruezer 250 Tiger IV was created.
