Just in case anyone else has this very particular problem...
Our house had a Samsung Chef RF34H9960S4/AA refrigerator preinstalled. Apparently very expensive and at least a bit too clever for its own good. The interior door for the Sodastream canister took to popping open every time we opened the fridge. This shim braces the latch shut, solving that decidedly first world problem.
