This is an original design but I got the idea from

Since the screws holding the extruder carriage fan are too short to go over a fan cover, this one clips in the screw slots instead.
The fan is held in place by only two screws, leaving two empty slots. This cover has two large pegs that fit in the empty slots, and two smaller pegs that slot into the heads of the screws.
It fits securely on mine but I suspect it depends on the precision of your print.
