Well here is my way of doing an end pole mod on the Winter Dream tarp.

I bought 7mm replacement tent poles from eBay. I then designed and 3D printed a "bushing" to adapt pole to fit ring on WD. I also designed and 3d printed clips to attach to shock cord and pole at ridgeline. I am super happy with the results and there are no permanent modifications to my tarp.
