I wanted to 'draw' something as signed distance field. Now that my spotlights tripod broke I went for it. Since slicing the SDF didn't work (at least not fast enough for my impatience) I've first exported the mesh as .stl (which had over 100megs), removed self intersections, closed holes and simplyfied the mesh down to an acceptable resolution.
