This is my attempt to replicate a carving made in granite or basalt stone by the Cabecar tribe of precolumbian Costa Rica.
The Sukia (or jawá) was the holy man, the intermediary between the spiritual and physical worlds. The shaman, medicine man, and sometimes undertaker, had extensive
knowledge about their history, medicinal plants, elements like stones with magical religious powers, cosmovision, and healing chants.
