The Tascam DR-40 doesn't sit properly with the XLR eject buttons. With 1/4" to 1/8" adapters inserted (Brand: Aurum Cables 3-Pack 6.35mm Male to 3.5mm Female Stereo Adapter from Amazon), this stand will allow your Tascam DR-40 to stand up properly. Other brands may work, worst case scenario you may need to adjust the size of the holes.

Cut in acrylic or wood and also a cut and glue a felt pad to prevent scratching and the accommodate for the Tascam's not exactly flat base.
