I have a few Xserves 3,1 2009 that have dying RAID batteries. Unfortunately since the servers are no longer in production their batteries are $80+ and likely to keep rising. To make matters worse to get at the batteries and tiny controller boards you have to destroy the aluminum holder or "shell" they sit in.

This holder replaces those destroyed aluminum ones. You can buy replacement batteries on eBay. Any 606168 battery should do but I specifically used this listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm
