TL;DR got tired of switching my speakers between my workstation and my laptop(which I use as a media center for videos and whatnot). So, 2x 3.5mm inputs and an output for the speakers and a hardware switch for quick access.

Parts:

3x 3.5mm female audio jacks
1x 9-pin toggle switch
A bunch of wires and a soldiering iron.
