I bought a used 2004 Ford F-150 a few years back and the plug that goes in the hole for the jack crank was missing. This plug is usually a keyed device that is intended to keep people from stealing your spare tire, I guess. It takes about 5-10 minutes to lower the spare, assuming you have the tools to do so, so I'm pretty sure the keyed device is an unnecessary precaution. It also costs around $120 to replace, which is probably more than it would cost to just buy another tire and rim.
