90 degree tube with mesh

I found a tube in my basement wall that led straight out to the outside of the house. It is big enough to allow rats, mice and other pests to easily enter the basement.

I think the tube is part of the self-ventilation of the basement so I did not want to just plug it up.

The solution I came up with was this 90 degree angle tube with the same inner diameter as the tube in my basement (52mm). I mounted it with the grid part facing upwards to allow me to look down into the hole.
