I wanted an easy to mount filament runout sensor for my Wanhao i3(Maker Select v2.1) that would fit between my spool holder on the top gantry and also act as a filament guide. I threw together and modified barrettdent's End of Filament Sensor (Switch) REMIX and cyul's Wanhao i3 Duplicator Filament Guide v2 as a simple mounting mechanism.

I am using these(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MFRMFS6/) micro switches that I had on hand, but others should work as well. See https://www.thingivers
