8 mm magnet lanyard

a simple magnet lanyard for 8mm neodymium disc magnets commonly available at hardware stores such as lowes and home depot. a couple of versions of the thing are available here.

you'll need to use a robust glue (cyanoacrylate or super glue, epoxy) and rough the surface of the magnet slightly with 80-100 grit sand paper.

i usually use mine to hold fishing line trimmers and my hook removal pliers to my life vest for quick retrieval.
