Nikon AF-S 18-55 DX Lens Focus barrel guide bushing

After a lens zoom jam and a pretty wobbly focus barrel, I diagnosed something broken in the lens. Facing a couple hundred dollars for a replacement, I wondered if it could be repaired- and sure enough, these little guide bushings are a common problem. Usually they just slip off, but one of mine was completely broken- with the pieces rattling around within the lens. ..If only I had a machine that could make small custom plastic parts.....
