1970's Clamshell box/ashtray

Clamshell box/ashtray designed by Alan Fletcher for Pentagram, 1972.

They can be put together to form a base and lid, or used separately providing two ashtrays. The serrated teeth serve to hold the halves together or to grip a cigarette.
