I love the pixel art model done by Tony Youngblood, and the way it uses a penny as the connector is brilliant (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3080498)! Unfortunately, these same connections cause a couple of problems.
First is the amount of weight it adds to the whatever your making. A penny on its own doesn't weigh that much, but once you have enough to make even 100+ block piece, you'll find it quickly adds up.
The second problem is getting enough penny's to make the connections.
