This model is a wireframe of the Roman surface (so-called because Jakob Steiner discovered it while in Rome). It is an embedding of the real projective plane into 3-dimensional space. It has rather a lot of self-intersection but is also pleasingly symmetric.
I don't know how well this will print on an FDM machine. I think laser sintering is likely to work better...
