I had an issue, my HOTAS was... less than comfortable to use while sitting on my desk. So after finding no commercial solutions to mount my HOTAS to either of my desk chairs, I decided to make my own.

This mount plate is designed for all Saitek HOTAS setups with the X55/X56 mounting holes. If you wish to adapt this design for any other HOTAS systems, i've included the original .skp of the project.
