I quickly designed this spool holder for a filament spool to hang below a 2.5 cm thick IKEA shelf.
It has 2 slots for an 8 mm rod. It can also be crewed to the shelf with a small M3 woodscrew to make sure the holder can not fall of during a print. I found it most useful to only mount one of the two so that the width between the two can still be adjusted for different sizes of spools, while still making sure it can not fall.
Printed them in PETG, but PLA and other filaments will work too.
