Particle Borg

I've been toying around with blender particle systems and a 14mm cube.

Using that I placed several cubes as hair on a cube and converted the hair into solids.

Afterwards I removed the original cube so that only it's hair was left.

With a bit of cleanup I ended up with something that vaguely reminded me of a (destroyed?) Borg cube.

Given that the object has holes trough it I was curious to see how it would work as a pendant.
