Computer Science knows a tree structure named a [Merkle tree](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merkle_tree).
This thing is a wordplay on the similarity of German chancellor Merkel and Ralph Merkle after whom the tree structure is named.
The thing was made by combining the [28mm Tree Stump](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1442707) with the [Jeanekken Merkel](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3140118).
