Great fun for kids is the Nat Geo Break Open Geode kit. You can hammer them open or make some nice sweet sopressata with a small tile wet saw. Now for me that is half the fun. What to do with a cool split open geode? I know! Add some neopixel lighting. But it can't be just any blinky code. It has to be a cool blended light show.
