Twas the night before Christmas, when just downstairs
Thomas ran about, without any cares;
He ran straight ahead, jumping over his toys,
landed next to his dad, making such a noise;
His father barked, "Knock it off!"
To Thomas, it sounded as a cough
He bounced about, reckless as could be
And he bounced into something he could barely see,
A snap was heard, not very loud,
yet it was able to turn the heads in a crowd
His father's vintage 1950's St. Nick,
Lay face down on the brick.
