48mm cubicle wall mount for... spaceships?

Okay, enough practical things for my cubicle walls. Now it's time to mount my Serenity shuttle figurine (see picture), from Universal Studios, so it's flying over my cubicle wall.

It comes with a base which is just a flat platform with a 3mm-wide rod sticking up, and there's a small hole in the bottom of the ship, canted at an angle, so the ship seems to be flying and banking.
