Grinder M12 axis Extension

I'm an optician and I make some custom frames in my store.
For that purpose, my podiatrist neighbour give me his former grinder (Brand Creusen, 650W 220V).
For my work, i need to adapt lages polishing wheels (~40mm large for 200 to 250mm diameter) and the curent thread are little too short for that. Actually, i use my cord drill and some M12 screw.
The extension may need some reinforcement with m6 thread rod and 2 nuts.
Also, i didn't threaded the M12 inside the extension, and intended to
