Universal Quick Release Tripod Shoe

Recently borrowed a tripod from a friend, the first thing he said was, "don't lose that shoe..." Looked for existing designs and didn't see anything that I really liked, especially didn't want a design that would require I source the bolt with the folding handle/toggle thing.
