The 450L has a very small bottom clearance at the tail rotor. This adjustment to the tail fin prevents the tail rotor from touching the ground, which will be the case on an uneven grass flying field. This often results in stripping the gears of the tail drive.
The tail fin clamps firmly into the protector and if desired it can be fastened with a locking screw.
