This plate, if properly used, will fold the ribbon cable over itself so that you can rest it along the Y axis instead of to the side of the printer along the X axis.

Yes, the ribbon cable is long enough for this. I've tested with the Z axis all the way up.

I'm in the process of making a clip for the extruder gantry so that the cable stays along the Y axis and will never interfere with the print process.
