The mainboard box fan is the only fan on my Ender 3 Pro that spins at all times. The other fans only spin when they need to (such as when printing or hitting certain temperatures in the PSU).
The original mainboard box fan is really loud even when it is slowed down so I wanted to put a quiet Noctua fan on it. The 40x10 Noctua fans only come in 12v and the Ender 3 is, of course, 24v. I have a handful of the LM2596 switching converters on-hand and wanted to use one to convert the 24v down to 1
