This is a weed trimmer attachment similar to ones they are selling with new models. Mine, however, is a Black and Decker GrassHog XP. I also don't like how cheap the wheels are and so have been thinking about this for a while.

You'll need 5/16" all-thread (or similar size in mm) and 2 nuts. I'm including a knob I melt
