I used this to determine the right scale to fit a standard pencil for the French Revolution pencil holder project.

Scaling to 11 mm z-height worked for me.

Now customizable. You can use your own letters and pencil sizes.
Note: though you can use Thingiverse's nice Customizer interface, it's much easier to visualize
