3D Inkjet printer from 2D printer

This project was intended to design and build a self-manufactured 3D Inkjet Printer from a conventional 2D inkjet printer. The functional printer would perform translational movement in the XYZ plane allowing for the motion of print head assembly in the X-axis via print head motor, movement of the slider mounted print head in the Y-axis and lowering of the platform/powder bed in the Z-axis. The project derives an understanding of the working of a 3D printer, inkjet technology, materials to be involved, motors with their control systems, programming at a rudimentary level and the economy behind prototype development.
