WHY?
I had some PC components laying around and felt like my raspberry pi is getting weak for my selfhosting needs so I decided to make a custom case for my new server. I also enjoy designing and 3D printing.
SPECS?
- 288x207x343 mm (WxDxH)
- ATX/mATX motherboard can be mounted in this PC case with 6 possible mounting holes using M3x5.7 mm threaded inserts.
- It is compatible with ATX PSU,
- two 120 mm fans and
- up to 7 disk drives (3 if using 3.5" HDDs).
- cover easily snaps in the place using 8 neodymium magnets 6x3 mm and it is also symmetric so it can be flipped around.
- both sides have small cover for possible future IO panel and to reduce print time of the two biggest parts
HOW?
- 1 week of modeling in solidworks and printing small bits to check design
- 1 week of printing (print time: 5-14h a peace = 6 peaces and 2 small covers = 52,5h in total)
- 6 threaded inserts M3x5.7 have been heated with soldering iron and pressed into the hex holes (instead o
