If you need a reliable everyday commuter bike, this is not the conversion for you.
This is just a fast, fun and lightweight e-mtb conversion to take out on the weekends and shred the woods.
I definitely would not recommend riding in the city with this kit, people will stare at you and wonder why your bike sounds so weird because it does make quite a bit of noise. It’s not like your electric skateboard (if you’ve ever had or tried one) where all the noise is canceled out by the loud skateboard wheels.
I’ve been working on this project on and off for the past 6 months now, so hopefully, it all works out.
It took a lot of frustration and troubleshooting to get it just right. The motor still gets a bit hot after 30 min of riding hard on the trails, but that’s what you can expect when using a motor this small. Peak power is about 3000w, and constant I would say about 700w or the motor gets too hot, which is quite a lot from a motor this size. Screws still come loose from time to time
