I have a workbench with multiple printers on it and not a lot of room for tools and such that are used during 3D printing. To keep my tools readily available and out of the way, I made these modular holders. They all use the same latch assembly and the tool holders needed can be printed as needed and inserted into the built in dove-tail.
This system uses an aluminum bar 1/8" thick and 1" wide (length is up to you). This can be purchased at most hardware stores. You will need to print stand-offs for the aluminum (the files are attached). The latch assemblies use 2 ea. 40mm long, 3mm dia. bolts and 2 ea. 50mm long, 3mm dia. bolts. They are threaded into the print, so no nuts are needed. Also, you will need to print 2 of the Linkages for each latch assembly. Besides the individual pieces of the latch, I have included an STL file of the entire latch assembly for your convenience.
