Ribbon Cutter

Design for a hot wire cutter for cutting and sealing ribbon.
60mm wide cutting length with graduated bed for measuring.


I sank 2 x M4 15mm brass inserts into the upright pillars, soldering copper wire to one end and using an 8mm M4 bolt to hold the wire in place.

Power is generated by 3 x AA batteries, I used a holder from a broken kids toy, though you could print your own.
Heat is produced by a 0.2mm stainless steel wire connected between the 2 bolts.
