Crecy-Agincourt Genoese Crossbowmen

Genoa was famed for its mercenary crossbowmen throughout the medieval period. Organizing into teams defended by large pavise shields, these men were well trained and able to deliver ordered volleys upon the enemy. Unfortunately for the Genoese paid by the French at Crecy, their pavise would be left with the baggage train.
