She is instead a gift given to the cult by the Denmother of the Vyanari, the mother of assassins in the land of Yanak Ti, home of Edrador’s serpentfolk. It was the Denmother’s will that Yushin be given to the Cult in exchange for them owing her and her children a debt, and providing their services whenever possible. Yushin's
