Spiral Gun

this is inspired by a video (How to turn a drill into a monster shotgun!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH8G7atCFSQ) showing a ball accelerated by pushing it at constant angular velocity along a spiraling path.
sounds pretty simple to implement, until you try to render the STL with openscad.. i gave up after one hour.
so, i need another way to programatically produce stl files.
i maybe could use POVray (old friend of mine) to describe the scene, and then to render orthographic slices
