This model is taller to accommodate a wider range of microtubes, based on IB3's design with internal holes. The extra height specifically allows the box to easily contain cryo microtubes used by the lab I'm helping out. There are "cheaper" ways to do this (i.e. changing the lid to have internal props so it sits higher, for example), but this was easier for a quick and dirty solution while we are still prototyping the boxes for the lab's specific use cases.
