A House Divided

A model of the United States right before the start of the Civil War. States are separated based on presidential voting during the Election of 1860. States that voted for different candidates are separated by height (0.125 in for Douglass, 0.250 in for Bell, 0.375 in for Breckinridge, and 0.5 in for Lincoln). Kansas is shown cracked, unorganized territories are shown flat.
