Tricky puzzle

This puzzle looks easy to solve. But it isn't.
Print and mix the 10 bars. Now try to overlay them 5 horizontally and 5 vertically oriented so that all holes are aligned open in both layers (see the Spoiler).
I am looking for a good strategy or algorithm for finding the solution.
Please let me know if you know a simple way.
