6 Point Star Iteration

George Mason University Math 401: Mathematics Through 3D Printing
The theme for this week was iterated function systems (IFS). IFSs are a way to build fractals that are mostly self-similar(IFS Manual). I chose to do a 6 pointed star which looks very similar to the Star of David. Each iteration was stacked similar to a triangle, which shows some similarities. Since triangles can create iterations of itself that looks very symmetrical, I wanted to see if I could do it as well. Which in the end, did not create the hypothesis because this shape in particular is equilateral and not regular.
To generate this iteration, I started with the base shape of an equilateral triangle and then inverted a copy of it that is rotated 180 degrees. Which I then merged together by translating the copied triangle to sit inside the original base shape. For the first iteration, I tried to place the star in equidistance to each other to create a symmetrical look, which I was
