This setup allows several types of motors to be mounted on round rods. The current setup is for a Turnigy 2830/11 brushless outrunner motor, and a 15mm carbon fiber rod.
I also use the same t-mounts to fix the rod to the quadcopter fuselage (you might be able to see that on the large photo).
One of the advantages of printing these parts is that they tend to fail on a crash, thereby breaking easily replaced printed parts rather than motors which must be replaced by mail order. I've delibe
