Magnetic Razor Blade Lifter

An exposed double edged razor blade lying flat can be dangerous to try to pick up, especially in a medical environment where they may be contaminated. I designed this thing to easily pick up and release them; it may come in handy in other situations, too.

The lifter consists of a piston with a small magnet on one end. With the cap all the way down, the magnet butts up to the edge of the cylinder. When the cap is lifted, the magnet retracts away from the end, releasing the blade.
