We are using the IKEA Mosslanda picture ledge as a book shelf in the kids' rooms. The shelf is not very strong, and after a year of use, 6 out of 9 shelves have split where the shelf meets the wall plate. This design (to be printed as strong as you wish, but I picked 45%, triangular infill) slots on each side of the shelf and can be glued or screwed in place, providing additional support.
