These are supports for cutting crown moldings on a miter saw. They can be used to cut crown moldings with 30, 38, 45, 52 and 60 degrees. This is the kind of jig that you do not use often but is a must whenever you are cutting crown molding. They support the crown molding at the correct angle and remove the necessity of having to use compound cut angles. They allow for the safe and accurate cutting of crown moldings even if you do not have a compound miter saw. There are three supports. The supports keep the molding at 45, 52 and 60 degrees which are standard angles for crown moldings. The jigs have holes for no.8 wood screws to fix them to a flat board. To use the supports: 1. Measure the angle of your molding and select the right support. You will need a minimum of 2 but more can be used. 2. Screw the supports to a flat board ensuring that the edges are aligned. 3. Place the molding on the support. NOTE: the moldings are placed in an inverted position (ie. the top is at the bottom and bottom at the top) so visualize the cut as if you are looking at the molding from the top down. 4. Use the set screw to ensure the back of the molding is resting flat on the support 5. Set the miter saw at the desired angle and cut.
