This thing lets you upgrade from the standard imperial ACME rod to a metric M8 or M5 rod by means of a "captive" nut.
I created this because I've been having issues with z-banding that weren't attributable to any of the commonly known factors, so upgrading to a beefier, metric thread seemed the way to go.
