Child Safety Latch for Entry Doors (Bedrooms, Closets, etc.)

This child safety latch is a very simple, but effective design. It just slides on top of the door and locks/unlocks by engaging with a dowel that is screwed into the top of the door frame. One screw is all that is required for mounting.

Edit: I've also added a door catch, if you'd rather use that than a dowel.

Edit 2: I've added a new design (version e) where I've strengthened the area around the latch. It's amazing how strong a 2-year old can be!
