NOTICE: I feel this design is now out of date and there are many things I would have done differently designing it. It does work, however the stress distribution is not very well thought out and there isn't a lot of space to mount components. I am working on a new carbon tube based design which I hope to release in a few months, in an "H" configuration, clamped with 3D printed components, and specialized for lightweight aerial photography. Hope you all will enjoy it!
The Skyblade frame is designed for strength and printability (especially for the Printrbot Simple Metal) from the start. I've built upon other designs which I have seen on Thingiverse to to create a base for an easy to build and fly drone. This frame can be completely assembled with zip ties, (I know you're thinking that's not very sturdy) but it feels very stiff and and I have had no structural integrity issues.
There is enough clearance between each of the arms for 10" blades. I am using 10" and it feels very res
